Slow going

Well... I have PS 7.0 now and I'm attempting to learn how to use it. So far from my previous two attempts I've learned that I cannot digitally ink for shit and have just thrown in some discolored cloud fx for a background. Any assistance or tips would be very helpful and greatly appreciated.
You have to understand that I haven't taken any kind of art classes since elementary school.

Also, yes I will hopefully have some more *ahem* photos up soon. Freaks.
